Professional Skills

As a passionate Disability Professional and Early Childhood Teacher Educator, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and communities through inclusive, person-centred, and evidence-based practice. My professional journey bridges two deeply connected areas — empowering people with disabilities to achieve independence and wellbeing, and equipping future educators with the skills to foster inclusive learning environments for all children.

With hands-on experience in disability support, program coordination, and early years education, I bring a holistic understanding of developmental needs, family engagement, and community inclusion. I am committed to advocating for equity, accessibility, and lifelong learning through reflective teaching, mentoring, and collaboration.

Whether supporting learners in the classroom or individuals in the community, my focus remains the same — to create meaningful change through empathy, education, and empowerment.

Educational Experience

I am Shoeab Mohammad, a dedicated educator from Bangladesh, currently serving as a casual lecturer in Early Childhood Education at the Southern Cross Education Institute- Higher Education (SCEI-HE). In order to provide a comprehensive overview of my educational journey, I shall delineate my academic pursuits from the inception to the present.

Commencing with my Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) studies in Science, I subsequently pursued a Bachelor of Education at the Institute of Education & Research (IER), Dhaka University. Within the Physical Science Department, my coursework covered foundational subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, Curriculum, Educational Psychology, and Policy in the initial semesters. Progressing into the latter part of my bachelor’s program, I delved into specialized areas including Instructional Technology, Organization and Management of Educational Institutions, Non-formal and Continuing Education, and various pedagogical subjects related to primary education. The final two semesters predominantly involved practical experiences through placement teaching in Early Childhood and Primary classes.

Continuing my academic journey, I pursued a Master of Education with a focus on Pre-Primary and Primary Education at the same esteemed institute. The curriculum encompassed diverse topics such as Education in Global Perspective, Methods and Techniques of Educational Research, Early Childhood Education, Primary Education in National & International Perspective, Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development in Primary Education, Policy, Strategy and Leadership in Education, Information and Communication Technology in Education, and Planning and Management in Primary Education. My commitment to continuous learning led me to pursue a second master’s degree in Special Education from Torrens University Australia, where I gained profound insights into Autism, mental health issues, various disorders, and their interconnectedness with early childhood and primary education.

Throughout the Special Education program, I completed 16 units, including crucial topics like Person-First in Autism, Dyslexia, Learning Differences, Inclusive Classroom Practice, Mental Health for Education Practice, Technology and Education, Self-Care and Developing Resilience, and Education Project.
