Home and Living (NDIS Support)

Home and Living supports are designed to help you live as independently as possible in a home that suits your needs—whether that’s in your own place, with family, or in supported accommodation.
These supports can include help with daily living skills, personal care, home help, finding and keeping suitable housing, home modifications, and specialist housing options for higher needs.

Common Home and Living options

Depending on your plan and goals, Home and Living may involve:

• SIL (Supported Independent Living): Daily support services (often 24/7) to help with personal care, cooking, cleaning, and routines—SIL funds the supports, not the rent or bills.

• SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation): The physical home designed for people with very high support needs or extreme functional impairment (SDA is the building, not the day-to-day support).

• ILO (Individualised Living Options): A more flexible, personalised living arrangement focused on how you want to live and who supports you (ILO funding doesn’t cover housing costs).
